In the aviation industry Passenger safety and security are paramount. BusinessJet Class will only display
operators who are rated Gold or Platinum by Aviation Research Group/U.S., Inc. (ARG/US). Just to give you a perspective
on this question, there are approximately 2,600 Air-Taxi operators in the US who hold FAA Part 135 certificates. 788 of these operate
turbine and/or jet aircraft. Out of these 788, 268 are rated Gold and 38 Platinum. From these, we have selected 123 operators to
display on BusinessJet Class.
The Gold and Platinum ratings are awarded to operators based on their operational and managerial practices. This is an overall safety
rating based on company history, pilot history, and aircraft history. But during the course of a year, pilots move on to other job opportunities,
aircraft are bought and sold, and some operators broker charter from fellow operators who might not be rated.
Therefore, before we confirm any trip, we perform an ARG/US TripCHEQ. A TripCHEQ is related to a particular flight as opposed to an
air-charter operation. The TripCHEQ answers many questions such as:
- Is the airplane equipped with the latest safety avionics, like collision avoidance?
- Has the airplane ever been damaged?
- Is this airplane listed on the operator's certificate or has it been brokered to someone we do not know?
- Do the pilots have clean records of accidents, incidents, and enforcement actions?
- Are the pilots adequately experienced in this airplane and are they properly certificated and type rated?
- Does the charter company have a good safety record?
- Are the Aircraft and the Operators adequaltely insured?
BusinessJet Class will confirm the trip only when all of our safety parameters have been met.
BusinessJet Class has taken the initiative with ARG/US to cultivate a "safety culture" among Part 135 operators choosing
to participate in our system. BusinessJet Class offers Air-Charter operators several participation levels and air-charter operators
who participate at the higher levels are automatically enrolled into ARG/US' ASOS (ARG/US Safety Officer Support) program
which gives them the support and tools necessary to develop and maintain their individualized safety management program.
Furthermore, BusinessJet Class customizes the safety program and help make safety a measurable element of the
business process. In this way, the monthly monitoring that is part of the ASOS program and that is managed by ARG/US,
provides operators with the indicators they need to steer their safety program in the right direction. BusinessJet Class
also provides the tools and, wherever possible, the resources to implement the required changes.
